Remember Myst, the graphic adventure game from the early nineties? Well, the notoriously power-hungry game which reduced some computers of its day to a crawl, can now be played
on your iPhone - without it breaking a sweat! The game puts you in the role of the 'Stranger', trapped on the island of Myst, searching for pages to complete a mystic book which will save the residents and allow you to escape.
Cyan Worlds, the team responsible for Myst's port over to the iPhone actually announced they were developing it this time last year, so it's clear a lot of love has gone into the game. And rightly so, as in a world where spending more than two minutes on an iPhone game should be seen as rare, Myst is one for those who spent days cracking the Mac original and long for a chance to become engrossed again.
Myst fans should be prepared for the game to not only take up their time, but their iPhone's memory too, as this is a 730MB download and requires 1.5GB of free space to operate! Suddenly that 16GB SSD doesn't seem so endless does it! While Myst won't be for everyone, it's great to see these older classics appear on the iPhone and we hope many more follow in Cyan's footsteps. Take a look at the video below for some gameplay footage or go on over to the App Store where you can pick
Myst up for $5.99 or £3.49 in the UK.
