1. Take a screenshot - Hold the home button and click the sleep button. The screen will flash white and the screenshot will be stored in your camera roll.
2. Save image from Safari - Press and hold on image until the message "Save image" or "Cancel" appears.
3. Soft reset - Press and hold the HOME button and the SLEEP button to restart your iPhone. After the screen shuts off, continue pressing until the screen turns back on.
4. Alternate characters - When typing a message or any text, press and hold on a letter on the virtual keyboard to see alternative form of that letter.
5. Domain typing - No need to type in "www" or the TLD name when you want to visit a site in Safari. Just type in the site name and you will be automatically directed to the site, for as long as your default search engine is Google and not Yahoo.
6. Jump to top - When scrolling a page, tap on the top bar to scroll to the top of the page. The top bar is the gray bar which contains the time, battery, and service bar icons.
7. Alternate caps - Tap on the caps arrow key then slide it over to the letter which you want to type in capital letter.
8. Setting option for the home button - Go to Settings, then General, then Home Button. Select what actions will activate when you double press the home button - that is to go to your Favorites, iPod or Home screen.
9. Fast text delete - When you're browsing email or your iPhone's SMS inbox, swipe off a list to delete them completely.
10. Call a number from Safari - Tap on a phone number that you see while browsing on Safari and the iPhone dialer will try to connect to that number.
11. View links - Press and hold on a link in Safari and an information balloon will be displayed showing the link URL.
12. Unread read messages - Tap on details when viewing a message to reveal the Mark as Unread option.
13. Change iPod icons - To change the four default icons at the bottom of the iPod app screen, tap on the More icon, then tap on the edit button and then drag the new icon towards the icon that you want to replace.
14. Better control when scrolling through contacts - Press and hold on the contacts alphabetical list then slide it up and down. This is a better way of scrolling than tapping on the letters of the alphabet located at the right side of the screen or flicking your finger on the alphabetical list.
15. SMS use of favorites and recents - When on your iPhone's main Phone screen, tap on Recent or Favorites, then tap on the right angle bracket (>) next to the number of the person you want to send an SMS to. Then at the bottom of the screen tap on the Text Message button to bring out the SMS creation screen.
16. Force quitting an app - Hold the Home button for 4-8 seconds while in an application.
17. Zooming in on a column - Double-tap on a text column to fit it to the display. Double tap again to zoom out.
18. Caps lock - Double-tap on the cap key to lock capitalization. Make sure to set the keyboard to "Enable Caps Lock" (under General/General/Keyboard) before using this tip.
19. Magnifying text - Hold your finger over a text field to enable a magnifying glass. This will let you move back and forward through text and spaces when typing a message.
