Best iPhone app for twitter, better even then any twitter app I've been able to find for the desktop (closest is destroytwitter).

Only con is the way it retweets, not by "RT @username" but by "(via @username)"

I love this app. Easy to use, not too overloaded with features, but has everything I need.

Version 1.3.1
I just wish it had a view conversation option, like in TwitterFon, where you can see an iChat style view of your conversation with someone. In Tweetie, you can flip through your conversation, which isn't as cool.

*update* Doesn't bother me as much anymore, but I still like it in the desktop client more.

The interface is the best though, simple, easy to use, and viewing pics is the best in Tweetie. They load up all full size, like the Facebook or Photo app.

*Update* I wish it had a way to group the people you follow, that way you can follow frequent tweeters without missing out anything important.

* Update* It seems to be the slowest at updating your avatar/pic when you change it often will display no pic for day or two while it figures it out.

App forces reload of all tweets each time it's launched

Version 1.1
After reading all the glowing reviews I was very disappointed to find this app suffers from one crucial drawback - it does not store tweets between sessions but rather, reloads them each time you launch the application. So, if you launch Tweetie, load your Tweets and then close it, the next time you launch the app it will again reload your Tweets. In the interim you will see a blank page rather than previous or read/unread Tweets. This goes for EVERY page in the app as well so Tweets, Replies, Messages, Favorites, none of that is stored between sessions. No internet, no data.
Expected more from this featured application.

Version 1.3
I purchased Tweetie on the iPhone App Store's recommendation. I needed to give other apps a test spin for a book I'm writing, and I assumed Tweetie must be an outstanding application as Apple was featuring it. Bad assumption. This app might get some ink but I'm not giving it the highest of marks. For free, TwitterFon runs better, has a snappier GUI, and fetches my tweets automatically. Can't say the same for Tweetie. Not the smartest investment I've made. Nothing to see here. Move along.

Version 1.0
This is the most feature full client for twitter hands down. Super fast navigation, interface is responsive, author definitely put a lot of work behind making it super fast. You would think this was made by Apple themselves. It has a few shortcomings: can't click links or @ tags on the timeline. Font seems big or maybe bubbles bother me. Inability to type somebodys name to follow (none of the apps I tried have that function), and when you are out and about and somebody tells you their twitter name I just want to start typing it with 2 clicks. No auto-refresh? Or at least very long one - bad. Time elapsed instead of the time tweet was posted, I don't want to do the math in my head to figure out if my friends are still at the place they said they are. Add auto-refresh, and time elapsed and it will be one great client. Allow us to tweak the theme and follow people easily it will be the best Twitter Client out.
Bad customer support

Version 1.3.2
Yes, the app is mostly functional. The recent bug that was largely crippled the search function was fixed, but a problem that I and others have had for months still remains.

The problem that was irking me had to do with how Tweetie handles avatar cacheing because when people I follow change their icon, several things can happen when using Tweetie. A less annoying possibility is that it takes approximately three days to refresh the image. A more annoying possibility is that the image becomes blank and stays that way forever.

After finding out that it wasn't just me, I contacted atebits in numerous ways but never got a response. Nobody with this issue has. I once got directed (but not by atebits) to a post on their blog from March about this issue saying it was fixed. It's not. Other Twitter clients do not have this user icon problem. I find the lack of support for a paid application disturbing.

You pay for the app and now the app has ads at the top. You could use a free one that does the same thing.

Fast, clean, stable, fully featured, supports multiple accounts, reply chain viewing, searches, saved searches, awesome UI, sweet icon. Makes me look at Twitter in a new light. And I'm not just saying that because @atebits is my friend. :) - @masonlee

Version 1.3
Tweetie is a great app for Twitter users. I have had the benefit of using the beta version for the last two weeks, and I’ve enjoyed every aspect of Tweetie’s intuitive, easy-to-use interface. Tweets show up in color-coded chat bubbles (as they would in SMS or iChat), and the application seamlessly provides the ability to upload pictures using the iPhone’s camera, update your location using the iPhone’s GPS, and follow links using the iPhone’s browser. I highly recommend downloading this app—it’s well worth the $2.99.

That's the only word I could find to describe Tweetie. I originally bought Twitteriffic Pro solely for all the gloss as I thought Tweetie only had the SMS style view (which I HATE). I was pleasantly surprised that Tweetie had an even better theme than Twitteriffic. The features are unmatched. Great purchase. Must buy if you use twitter.

I find it really annoying that of loads at the moast recent tweet instead of the last viewed tweet. It is this one feature that keeps sending me back to twitterific. At least make it an option.

I never thought I would buy something like this but it's really top notch. I have a hard time remembering it wasn't made by apple. It loads really fast, even over EDGE on my first gen phone.
