Carbon Footprint

Carbon Footprint is an application for the iPhone and iPod touch that allows you to track fuel usage for multiple cars. By entering a few pieces of data every time you put fuel in your tank, Carbon Footprint is able to collect and calculate a number of useful statistics.

As soon as you have collected data from a few fill ups, statistics will be calculated for you. The statistics that are generated are:

1) Miles per gallon
2) Dollars per gallon
3) Dollars per mile
4) Dollars per day
5) Miles per day
6) Gallons per day
7) Projected Carbon Dioxide emissions per year
8) Percent difference from average American CO2 emission (based on government statistic of an average of 500 gallons of gasoline per American per year)
9) Total carbon emissions to date

As well as being able to generate statistics for all time, the user is also able to see statistics over a specific date range as specifiable in the statistics window.

In addition to numbers, the user is also able to tap on any statistic and see it plotted in a chart over time. In this chart view you can see the "Per Fill Up" statistic in RED which is the stat from each tank to the next, and also the "Running Average" for each statistic in BLUE.

As for data entry, the user simply has to press the "Edit" button in the "Entries" view, and use the convenient picker-based entry fields to enter the date of the fill up, price paid per gallon, number of gallons, current odometer reading and whether or not the tank was completely filled.
