What the developers aren't telling you

Previously I was scouring the AppStore for new apps and apps on sale. AppSniper makes this FAR easier and I love it. However I have a problem with the fact that the developers of this great app are using affiliate links to apps when you click on "Buy" in AppSniper. An affiliate link is a link that generates revenue for a publisher, in this case Manta Research. So not only are they charging you 99 cents for AppSniper, but they also make a small percentage commission everytime you buy an app by clicking on "Buy" in AppSniper. I feel the developers of AppSniper need to be up front about their use of monetized links within AppSniper and it was only by careful observation (and the fact that I am an iTunes affiliate and make money the same way off my web pages) that I discovered this. I give AppSniper 4 stars for function and -3 stars for not disclosing they use iTunes affiliate links, so my final rating is 1 star. If the developers post a disclosure statement I will update my review.
Great for keeping your eye on those "must have" apps

Ok, so I'm just gonna come right out and say it: I'm an App wh@r3. I keep trying to find the best prices on apps that have great reviews and functions that I may (or may not) use. This is THE PERFECT app for people like me. It let's me stay on top of the more expensive apps that I just can't bring myself to pay for... yet. When the prices drop to what I AM willing to pay for, I know it right away!
Not only that, it keeps you updated on ALL new apps that get released from day to day, and ALL price changes from day to day. You can even turn off certain categories if you aren't interested in seeing updates for them (navigation, books, lifestyle, etc.).
This is THE best app for staying on top of all those apps that you are keeping your eye on.
For those of you who haven't figured it out, first thing you should do is turn the "3G/Edge" setting (under Config) to "ON". That will let you browse and get updates even when you are out of WiFi range. That should really be enabled by default, IMO.
***My only wish is that they make it easier to sort/browse through the lists. The lists can be quite long and are not currently arranged in any specific way that I can see; not alphabetized or sorted by price. Hopefully this is something that will come in an update soon. But even without that, this is still the most useful app that I have!

At last a useful application. Finally an easy way to see new apps on appstore. Already I can see ones I've missed. Good work.

This is the best app in the iTunes store, period. It updates frequently to let you know new apps that have came out, that you may otherwise miss. The best part is the ability to mark apps you want to buy and the price you are willing to pay for them. When they get into the price range you want, it will show up under "snipes". Also, any app that changes its price will show up (I've gotten lots of apps that are on sale for free for a limited time).
This app seriously has paid for itself 10x over and I've only had it 2 days. It's amazing.

I kid you not, this app paid for it's self in two minutes. Great app, very helpful and useful. Keyboard is the only thing.

Except for the known issue of the keyboard, best app for a app addict like me !!!! I was always checking certain websites for info, now all in one place and can target specific apps. Very up to date with new and sale apps... Will never miss a cheap app again!

Version 1.7.1
I just bought my iphone in March. I'm really enjoying browsing for apps. I waited a while before buying this thinking I didn't need it. Nevertheless, I decided to go for it. It does NOTHING. It comes up briefly on the screen then disappears..... VERY disappointing. I'm hoping it gets fixed. I saw so many good reviews. Before spending the $ on this app, I'd wait until you see more positive reviews about it being fixed. This is my first review ever and I just had to post.
Has become a disappointment.

I loved the first versions of this app, and used it daily. The latest version crashes constantly, making this app unusable. I hope the developers will be able to fix whatever issues are causing the problems, but I can't recommend this app right now.

The prices are really delayed. Looks good, but needs maintenance on the prices. Have yet to snipe an app. Save your money.

I love the idea of viewing these APPS all in one place, all on my phone and finding discounts to some I was going to purchase anyway, at full price. Somewhat addicting, isn't it?

Version 1.6
This app deserves more than 5 stars in my opinion. It will save you time and money when you're looking for new applications. The app store does NOT list all the new apps. You only see the new apps that Apple wants you to see.
Also this app has saved me probably about 20 bucks since I began using it. It's my #1 most frequently used app. I'm constantly checking it to see if any cool new apps have come out. We all know we can't rely on the built-in app store for that information.
This app gives you an accurate up to the hour report on all the latest apps, what price they are, and you can see a graph for each app that shows the trend in pricing for that app. What an incredible service this would be if those were the only things it did. This app will also let you watch apps and you can be notified when your watched apps drop in price. You can buy the app right through the link on the page which takes you to the app store.
WHO CARES IF THEY MAKE A CUT OF EVERY SALE? IT DOESN'T COST YOU ANYTHING EXTRA! I say if it helps the developers stay in business, more power to them.
I say well done, Manta Research. I would LOVE to have a Mac version of this app so I can snipe from my Macbook Pro.
Will pay for itself, but be sure to backup

This app will pay for itself the first time a snipe flags a desired app as on sale. I run it every morning to see what's new and interesting. (Of course, if you're not disciplined this will run up your iTunes Store bill as you lust after all the cool new apps that appear every day.)
WARNING: I believe there is a bug in the 1.7 update that wipes out all of your existing snipes. Good luck remembering what they were. AppSniper has a function that allows you to backup your snipes. I recommend you do this every time you add a snipe. I had to delete a star because of this little glitch.
EDIT: I did get this response from Manta Research in regards to this issue: "The app itself doesn't wipe out any existing data. The problem is that sometimes iTunes update process will erase the old directory and create a new one thereby getting rid of the old configuration files. This is why we put the "backup snipes to server" option in the config panel. This way it's stored on our server and if it's ever wiped out, you can restore it." I leave it up to you whether or not to accept this explanation.

4/21 Appsniper crashes again. This app has crashed multiple times on me since I first got it. I say to anyone who is thinking about buying this don't until all the bugs are fixed cause it's a waste of money.
