I am not upset about the $5 bucks I spent on this. I hve all the weber grilling books but I wanted this for convenience. Here is what I think is missing: From the grilling screen where I select what I want to cook, the timer should start from that screen - and the timer should include a pause in case of flare ups. I shouldn't have to go back and forth from the grilling info on how long for direct and the back timer, then back to grilling for how long for indirect then back to timer - it should be - if I chose a steak, and choose it's thickness and ALSO chose my desired cooked method - and the program givese back - 6min direct High, and 20min indirect medium, from right here I should be able to start the timer accordingly! My other suggestion is more meats - ie. Bottom Round Steak is missing, or allow for a basic steak to cover other steaks not mentioned or allow me to enter my own configurationso I can automate how I prefer to cook my food in the grill. Having said all this - I'm happy, and I look forward to updates!!!!
One feature is missing

On the plus side, there's enough recipies to keep you grill'n for quite awhile. Also, the grilling guide is great, as it tells you the temperature and cooking times for all kinds of food. The issue I have is with the "grocery list" feature. It's very handy if you're the one going to the market. However, if your spouse is going, there's no way to give the list to someone else. You can't email it, text it, or even copy/paste it. That makes this seemingly handy feature useless for me. Fix it, and I'll be very happy with the app.
A solid first revision

A reasonably large number of recipes, but by no means the complete collection of recipes found in the numerous Weber and Weber-Sunset Magazine collaborations. In typical fashion recipes are separated by type of meat & vegetable, but once in a category they are sorted alphabetically by the name of the recipe, not the cut of meat. It would be great to be able sort by cut of meat within each type, e.g. all rib recipes within the pork category. All steak recipes within red meat.
The cooking time feature is logical and easy to use, but often there is only one thickness. I know many cooks ask for thicker or thinner cuts from their butcher, so having a larger number of thicknesses or selectable thickness you could adjust (like the timer) would be really nice.
There is a serious problem with the timer. Unless your phone is awake it will not go off. Until this bug/omission is addressed, stick to the timer that comes with the phone.
The shopping feature is very handy.
Finally, on the chance that the folks at Weber are following these reviews for ideas. iPhone 3.0 supports bluetooth, it would be over the top cool if in future versions this app communicated with a bluetooth enabled Weber Style Digital Thermometer. (Even better if it could display 2-4 thermometers something I often use with a smoker or multiple types/cuts of meat.)
Perfect

A man, a grill, and an iPhone. What could be better? Maybe a woman and beers waiting for you inside...no, wait the beer needs to be next to the grill. Awesome app!
Good app

Good app. Love the feature of the grill guide. I do wish you could change the doneness there and start the grill timer in that function as well. The grocery list is top notch. Can't wait to try some of the recipes.

Great concept, great layout. I would give it 5 stars if it had an e-mail option. Say I wanted to share a recipe with my wife? It would be great if I could e-mail the recipe and grocery list to her.
Nice but one feature to add.

Nice app. One feature i would like added is when switching to the grill timer from one of the other areas and back the program remembered where you were. As it stands when going back and forth from the timer screen you have to re-select the reciepe or item you are cooking.
Great app will be better when you can export the grocery items lists.

I love this app, lots of tips and hints. When it lets you export or at least email the grocery lists then i'll give it 5 stars. I use the GROCERY G app for my groceries. It will be great when I can export my Weber ingredients list to my GROCERY G app so I can get my stuff and start grilling.
Great App

I love this app. I do have a couple of suggestions. First a way to organize by types of food rather than aphebetical (have all beef together under red meat). Second, I could not figure out how to start the timer in the recepie. Third, keep adding recepies.
Great app

Great app, The grocery list is awesome. Would be nice if other applications used it too. How about coming out with home cook meals with the same grocery list options. Makes life way easier. I know you are all about grilling but I can see this apps use else ware.

Version 2.0
I've downloaded probably around 50 or so apps. Of all the apps I've had, this is my very first review. The reason is simple, this app is fantastic! They just released the new version which pretty much fixed every single complaint about the first version, which was excellent as it was. One minor gripe I had about the first version was the grill timer, now it works perfectly even if the screen takes a nap! The grocery list function is pure genius, I use it all the time. Lastly, the recipes make me feel like a chef, they're that good. Long live Weber!
Fabulous An unexpected app.

I love the grill guide with temp and times. I think the rubs and recipes are also great. I would also agree with the suggestion to make the shopping list exportable. A great application.
