WOW! An RSS Reader done Right!

Version 1.0
This review is my first and I have to say it takes one great software for me to even consider writing a reivew. I find this software to be so creative and just fun to use. Seems to fix all the major gripes from other RSS readers. I have tried them all and this one is by far the best. If I could add anything it would be a feature from the Google Reader app that lets user download a full web page. That is being picky though. If you looking for a fun app that also happens to be creative and content rich look no further!

Version 1.0
I've tried iRSS, Bylines, smartRSS, NetNewsWire, and azRSS...most were pretty bad, and none including this one are perfect. I do think Newsstand is the best though.
pros: internal browser, feed finder, coverflow, email & del.icio.us bookmarking, themes, read offline.
cons: internal browser is a little slow, coverflow doesn't "snap into place", del.icio.us opens in safari.
I spent $5 and feel good about it...like i said. Best news reader available
Almost perfect

Version 1.0
This is my favorite RSS reader for iPhone - it's very flexable, it nests feeds in folders, and it's very stable - It's almost perfect ... except for the awful useless landscape mode. Ugh!! I pulled up the Dillbert comic and the strip was wider than the screen so I instinctivly rotated the phone and ... nothing but disappointment. I didn't get to see Dilbert in widescreen, that's for sure. It's funny how the weakest part of this app is advertised so prominatly. It's kinda useless.
Good but needs work...

Version 2.4.1
Nice app but terrible to use because I can't swipe or press a button to go to the next article. Instead I have to keep using the pane on the left. Feeddler handles this much better and it's free! Please add either a swipe-to-next-article or add left and right arrows so that it allows to view next arctic in the UNREAD Feeds. Otherwise what's the point? I'm better off using Safari and going direct to google reader! I was expecting much better than this for the price! Going back to Feeddler until this is updated.

Nothing but problems

Version 1.0
I have had nothing but problems with Newsstand since buying this software given the many glowing reviews. I don't get it, either I have a unique problem or this software can't handle my type of use. Here is what I did and the problems I have encountered:
1. Upload my gmail reader rss feeds using opmlmanager.
- This had a problems where it created many un-named folders in Newsstand with my rss feeds within each of the folders. When I tried moving the folders to a new folder or an existing folder, I went to "edit" the feeds, which allows you to move the feed or rename them to different folders. The problem here was the scrolling was buggy so that you could not ever select the bottom two folders in your list of existing folders. This was fixable by reordering the folders again using edit but was a pain none the less.
- All seemed ok, except once I emptied the folder, if i accidently clicked on the empty folder, Newsstand would crash and ALL edits would be lost. this meant that I had to be very careful to make edits, exit the program and then reload.
2 - Problems with edits and marking read.
In general, all edits are questionable. Meaning that I often mark articles read, change name of feeds and then exit the program. When I reload the program I find that all my edits are gone and the articles are still unread ( even though I already read them ).
3. - Problems with landscape mode.
Many times the read gets "stuck" in landscape mode. Meaning no matter what I do with the iphone I can't get it out of the graphical representation of the reader ( which is cool but not really as efficient for reading and browsing a lot of feeds ). Additionally, I found with some feeds the article contents would not display in the graphical version. Wierdly, the content for the first article would appear in the "book" cover but when opened the contents were not there.
Overall, I really wanted to like this program but I have wasted too much time on this.
Great reader at a reasonable price.

Version 2.4.1
I had previously used Newsrack on the iPhone. I liked it, but it was slow at times and was limited by the small screen. On the iPad, however, it's fast, full-featured and a pleasure to use. Web pages render quickly and the built-in browser and integration with services like instapaper works well. Google reader sync is great. I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that the iPad version was a free upgrade from the iPhone version--especially when many developers seem to be capitalizing on early adopter's wallets with $10 hi-res versions of their apps while offering very few or no new features. At $5, Newsrack is very competitively priced, especially considering certain other RSS readers (I'm looking at you NetNewsWire) are twice as expensive and don't offer any real advantages.
I give up

Version 2.3.1
I accepted for a long time how slow and puzzlingly memory hungry this program is, but the constant syncing problems -- which still occurs in this update despite claims to the contrary -- is just too much. Every time this error pops up, I have to reestablish the sync, which also means having to deactivate feeds that I want on the desktop but not (because they slow this thing to a crawl) on the phone. There's no quick way to do this: i have to deactivate each thread, one by one, only to get another sync error a few weeks later and do it all over again. No thanks. I expect better support from the most expensive newsreader app on the iPhone, but I'm done wasting time.
2.0 Update Changes Everything

Version 2.4.1
Really impressed. I stopped using it quickly after my initial purchase, months ago. I had in fact written it off, because often developers just give up after a 1.1 release or so. Not in this case. The 2.0 update, out today, is a game-changer. The design is really slick, completely new, and now it DOES integrate with Google Reader. Really well. I highly recommend this app for your news reading now. It's terrific! Way to go, omz:software, hats off to you. P.s. SERIOUS props to the dev for the iPad version at no extra charge.

Version 1.0
I am just trying this out and I have to say I am pleased - well worth the money. It's the best here for sure - although the free one is still good also. It feels like it has some room for improvement with UI and hopefully the developer will tweak things after comments come in.
Here's some of mine:
-the large unread and flagged buttons in the feed screen are annoying and a waste of space. I'd rather not see them at all.
-it would be nice to see another line in the main feed screen. An option for sizing the fonts and spacing down a bit?
-why do you have to double tap in landscape mode? - iTunes uses single tap
-it seems like rotating to landscape and getting the feeds is a strange behavior when you are reading an article. I might expect to see the article in landscape?
A couple updates since using it for a bit: there are definitely some bugs - when pressing back when reading an article and then on a second article, the first one displayed and then pressing back wouldn't make it go away - had to restart the app. Loading of feeds is significantly slower than the free version. Some articles load sized to the picture instead of the text leaving you with micro text that you can tap to enlarge. Coverflow is quite slow to load and IMHO not quite as intuitive as it could be.
Again - nice for a first version, but needs some work.
Looks and feels great but sync with Reader is unreliable

Version 2.1
The look and feel of the app is great but the sync function with Google Reader is unreliable. The read/unread status of feeds in NewStand is not transfered to Reader correctly after a sync and the read/unread status in Reader does not show up correctly in NewStand. Its very frustrating to read my RSS feeds in Google Reader at my desk then check during a meeting break on my iPhone and be unable to know which feeds I've already read in NewStand because it is showing many unread feeds than I had previously read in Reader. Fix sync with Google Reader and you get three more stars from me. Add sharing capability with Facebook and you'll get another star. Big potential for a 5 star app here but as it stands now I can only give it 1 star.
Used to be great...

Version 2.3.1
I loved this app. LOVED for a long time! I considered it my best app purchase and recommended it to everyone. To this day, when working properly, I believe it's the best feeder out there, but boy have the sync and connectivity issues killed it for me. It rarely opens, and despite clicking that i've read everything, its all back to unread when i return, but worst of all, it crashes consistently. I thought this latest update would fix it, but like the complaints below, here I am again dealing with the same issues. Please fix it. I hope to rewrite a review one day giving it the five stars it at one time deserved. Until then, I'll remain disappointed.

Will not store my password. Syncing is very slow on wifi. Newsrack's UI used to be my favorite but now MobileRSS is superior to this app. MobileRSS is so much better than this app. It is faster and reliable. MobileRSS updates are frequent. Disappointed in Newsrack
