Yahoo! Messenger

This is a great messenger app. But it does have its flaws. I have compiled a list between a friend and I of everything we think is wrong with the app. If all of this stuff gets fixed it will be amazing!

-No support for landscape mode.

-App signs you out after ten minutes.
-Should be able to set for different times:
-As soon as it closes
-Ten Minutes
-Thirty Minutes
-One Hour
-Three Hours
-Six Hours
-Twelve Hours
-Twewnty-Four Hours
-Or something like that?

-Status turns to idle as soon as you close the app.
-Should be able to set for different times:
-As soon as it closes
-Five Minutes
-Ten Minutes
-Fifteen Minutes
-Thirty Minutes
-Never

-If you wanna sign in as invisible you have to check te box to do it every time. There should be an option to automatically have it checked every time you open the app.

-When you send a picture to someone who is on the Mac or PC messenger it needs to send a link to them to open the picture in an internet browser.

-Needs the option to display Names, Nicknames, or Screen Names.

-If you are in an SMS chat with someone and exit the chat screen when you go back to it you have to switch to SMS again.

If these problems get fixed this will be an amzing messenger application and I really wanna see it get all of these thigs fixed.

Awesome app. It's great I can now I'm my msn buddies. Also free Texting comes in very handy.

This app is really cool , it was the fist app in my iPhone , when the AT&T sent me a bill they charged me on each IM mesg. WHYYY AND I WAS USEING wireless not a 3g network please DO SOMETHING PLEASE I LOVE THIS APP

This app is a great start, but still could use a lot of improvement. The things I like most about it is the overall look of the app… very slick, and the Emoticons are very clear and easy to see when I bring them up.
Now for the list of what needs to be improved… App crashes sometimes, needs sound alerts, would like to customize my status, want the option to have contacts who are currently online to show up on the top of my contact list, want to be able to show my status as online for some contacts and offline for others, want to save my own URL’s into a favorites list, want to be able to add a photo from my iphone to a contact on my list who currently has no photo displayed on their ID, would like to see more Emoticons on the list, would like to be able to “BUZZ” contacts, the small arrow on the right side of each contact that connects to the “Details” information is very hard to click without the app thinking I want to start a chat, and last, of course, everybody is hoping that push notification will be available when the iphone 3.0 software is available.

This application is nice and free!! I love the look and functions of this application. My only complaint wound regard file transfer such as sending a photo or video. It is a hit or miss; works or does not. Otherwise, happy with this application.

Looks great but with no notifications once you close the app it is kind of useless.

this app is awsome it works fine but my request is that I want to be able to view people's webcam(on iTouch&iPhone) it would be great and more people will get this app I assure u if u put this on as one of the features! thankz

The only problem I have is that when it flips to landscape mode half of the convo gets cut off. It also has a few bugs like closing for some weird reason. And we should be able to turn off the push sounds since they can be so dam loud lol and the time someone sends me a message is always wrong. It shows the time it is when I SEE the message.

This new version is terrible! I can't believe that Yahoo has made it dependent on purchasing the 3.0 update in order to download their messenger ap! I have used it for 3 months and rated it a four star ap. I was happy with it except for the touchy horizontal/vertical feature, as noted in many previous reviews. I deleted and restored to factory defaults today, so I could reupload fresh copies of all my aps. I found to my great dissappointment that Yahoo has upgraded their messenger ap and now, you can not dpwnload it without first purchasing the new 3.0 OS for almost $10. I am so disappointed in Yahoo.

Push notification, landscape mode and more general options

The lack of group conversations between multiple Y! contacts. I have alot of mutual friends as contacts and we would love to be able to be in one chat instead of multiple. Please add this on the next update.

Good app but for some reason all of my contacts don't appear or else it's 5 star app.

It will be perfect if us users could send photos or videos to our MSM friends. That will be the final touch to make this app excellent!!!

I only rated it one star because I can't log in I try to and it says sign in failed wen I even checked my username and pass. Is it only because it's on an itouch?! HELP

It runs ok on my iPad but froze at startup on my wife's iPad. I checked the settings and found that there were some differences in the Landscape, Shake options. It's tricky but once it starts up you have to quickly hit the settings button and change those options to OFF. It took several attempts as the app freezes up very quickly. Once frozen I had to load another app and try Messenger again. It seemed like a hit and miss to get it to startup. Be persistent, if you can change those options it'll run. Good luck, keep trying to beat the freeze...it's like an added bonus game to get it to run.
