My most used app

Version 1.1
I got more than my 99 pennies worth from my first use -- running the "wind" noise (complete with occasional quiet rustling of leaves) through my headphones while working on a paper for more than two hours -- it kept me meditatively focused on my task (and I am one to be easily distracted).
Some other observations...
1. The stereo sound (with headphones) is incredibly rich and soothing with the crickets, wind, birds, creek, and especially rain and waves.
2. The timer is accessible throught the "i" button in the upper right-hand corner of the screen (maybe the developer could make a more obvious button to push to get to it).
3. The blue noise, white noise, and violet noise are all a bit too tinny and annoying, but the pink noise has depth and bass to it (maybe get rid of the previous three and rename pink noise to Niagara or Niagara Falls).
4. I have the creek sound running just out of the iphones speaker and it has visitors actually looking for or asking where my soothing water fountain is.
Great app... I use this one the most (even more than my beloved Pandora) and I have over 30 apps.
Tinnitus GODSEND for an old Army, Vietnam Machine-gunner

Version 1.4
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
I'm 56 years old and I've suffered from tinnitus for many years (as documented by the VA Administration, but they have DONE NOTHING FOR ME!)
Three years ago, my tinnitus was driving me NUTS. I couldn't fall asleep at night, I was having difficulty trying to "focus" during the day. I finally found a place in Dallas, Texas that helped me, called Callier Clinic.
I went to the CALLIER CLINIC (part of the University of Texas at Dallas) for an evaluation of my tinnitus (and I think they agreed I was nearly off my rocker, from the sounds I heard ALL THE TIME from the tinnitus.) My tinnitus by the way sounds like I have a combination of rattle snakes and June bugs in my ears, with an occasional electronic buzz saw. I spent two years wearing what look like hearing aids that basically generate a "white sound" that in essence drown out the tinnitus and "re-train" your brain so it basically "tunes-out" the noises a tinnitus sufferer hears. After two years (and about $3,000) I finally found some relief from my ailment.
I went back to Callier Clinic again for a follow-up (about a year ago). During my meeting with the audiologist, I learned there is a new device on the market that provides additional help for the tinnitus sufferer. My audiologist allowed me to demo the unit briefly in her office.... It was like I had just jumped into a hot-tube after chopping wood all day long. I found immediate relief by this product, that looked almost like an Apple iPod, (made by some folks in Australia.) Except, this device, had I wanted to purchase it, came with a price tag that would set me back $4,000 plus some change. I left the Callier Clinic without buying the device, like a dog with my tail, stuck between his legs (or in my case, between my ears...)
Recently, my wife and I purchased "his and hers" iPhone 3Gs. (I own 4 Mac computers, and took to these "new fangled" iPhones like a "Duck To Water." I may be an old fart, but I was (and still am) having a ball with all the APPS you can download for an iPhone...
I stumbled into "AMBIANCE" and thought I had died an gone to heaven. For 99 cents, I feel as if I robbed a bank and got the snazzy thing-a-ma-bob I saw at the Callier Clinic in Dallas AND I SAVED $4,000 IN THE PROCESS. I am totally, TOTALLY delighted with my iPhone 3G and especially AMBIANCE...
Ambiance has "White Sound, Blue Sound, Brown Sound" and other pleasing sounds that work very effectively for me in regard to the "rattle snakes and June bugs" I hear in my head all the time. You simply CAN NOT imagine how thankful I am for all the wonderful sounds that Matt Coneybeare has in this nice little audio package.
No, I am not related to Matt, (I don't even know who the guy is) but I can tell you, I am one of this biggest fans.
Now, I can take the $4,000 I saved (by NOT buying that audio gizmo made in Australia) and actually buy an airline ticket and FLY to Australia.
Thanks Matt... YOU DONE GOOD!

....I have to say I'm not that impressed. I purchased the application 'aSleep' and LOVE it, but with the highly rated reviews of this application I decided that 'more options' meant it would be a winner, and I have to admit I was WRONG... This application lacks many things, the volume for one, which is very important changed dramatically between each sound, so either you can't hear it, or when changing sounds you think your ears are going to start to bleed! The 'crickets' sound, sounds just like the iphone ring tone, the waves one is pretty decent. All in all, I just ended up deleting the application. I think the design of the application is really good, but I have to admit I like the 'touch sounds' better on aSleep, but this is only my opinion, check them both out! Take Care.
This app is the ballz.

I spent over $20.00 on itunes looking for good rain sounds, etc, and made a playlist for night time. this app did it all for a buck. The icon doesn't look lame, the interface is clean, it's just simply perfect. One of my killer apps I can't live without.

What a great app! I can't wait to try this baby out at work. I'll be working from my cubicle, while listening to the waves crash. The sounds are of excellent quality. I saw where more sounds are coming soon. Well worth the $0.99!!! Would have paid more - thanks for the nice low price though!!! :)

Version 1.4
I bought this app. one day when I was just walking accross the main hallway of my friends house in Cali; I thought this app. would be cool to try out... needless to say... DISSAPOINTED!!! 5 minutes of fun and then BYE BYE
! ! ! BUT ! ! !
Since then this app. has received EXTREMELY regular updates, IMMENSE improvements, and tons and tons of sounds, it is now on my homepage of my iPod Touch ;)
A couple sounds that I would love to get to hear would be:
-Spray Paint / Wall Action (Shaking, Rattling, Switching Cans, Cap Switch, Overkill, Can To Floor, Different Cap Sizes etc...) {INFO: I could help you record this since I paint myself and know what I would want but I would need details on how to do so}
-City Noise {Multiple Cities}
-Caffe {Different Caffes, rock, punk, reggea, turkish, french, german etc...}
-Places {Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, Tiananmen Square, etc...}
More To Come
Keep it up!
Keep it going!
Keep it coming!

I'd rather have less sounds of higher quality. Latest update makes the software crash all the time. Worth the money if they had higher standards for the sound

Version 2.0.2
Ambiance used to be a great app. It had an intuitive interface and did what it was supposed to do. This new forced upgrade is a piece of garbage. You have to register, select sounds to download and put up with a cumbersome, cluttered interface. Sorry guys, I HATE this new version. You ruined everything that was good about the old version.
