I like the idea behind this and it's a really fun app, but it was definitely not user tested in any meaningful way before it was thrown up here. I wouldn't have been bothered as much if it was free, but wanted to let people know since you have to pay for this one. You cannot switch the direction of a text bubble. They always appear to be coming from the left, so that you have to find a photo that will work with this limitation. Also, the text sometimes appears to go out of the text bubble (come on here!), and when you are typing text for a 'caption', the text will appear to wrap to a new line, but then it displays all on one line in the photo, running off the screen and the photo. This application is in dire need of bug/usablility fixes.
Yes, you CAN have right facing bubbles...

The review below is mistaken in saying that you can only have left facing bubbles... you just drag the pointer on the bubble to have it point where you want it to go. You can even change the length of it, just like in Plasq's amazing Comic Life application for the desktop. I find this to be a good first effort for the iPhone, and Plasq is known for constant updates improving their products. Im looking forward to the next release.... Skitch for iPhone? Please? ^_^

If I had one criticism of this app, it's that there seems to be no "undo" function, so it you add, say, a caption box, you can't get rid of it if you change your mind (which is why I docked it 1 star). You have to delete the whole panel and start over. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Still, I have fun with this, well worth $5!
Pretty Fun app

Version 1.2.1
This app is great fun. It's a blast adding comic bubble thoughts and captions to images. Even has a practical use as I sometimes need to add text to a photo I just shot. Couple of issues. First, image cropping is strange. The tool bars on the top and bottom determine crop. This isn't intuitive. Horizontal images get cropped to thin. Also, need a way to change bubble size. Maybe if when image is cropped, the background could have different colors and be incorporated into the final pic, like a colored border. Also, saving is not that intuitive either. Maybe some drawing tools, like arrows, circles, etc. could be added (both open and closed). This could help to draw on screen captured. But this is a great program. Worth the $5!
Would be a great app if it actually worked

Shows so much promise. Too bad it hangs and never sends out the actual email. I wish there was a way to preview apps before actually buying them.
So far so good, except:

I have been unable to email from the app. Tried it six times - it made the 'zooom' noise like it was sent, but was never received. Fortunately it saves a copy in my iPhone photo folder and I as able to email from there. I love it overall, but would like a little choice of font.

Cool app. if you want to spend $5... but the email function doesn't go to my contacts.. and sending email from the app doesn't work at all. I have to save them and then email from the camera roll. Update the app please! Would be INSTANT FUN killer app if it worked with the missing iPhone MMS. (hint hint)
Fun...but needs an update soon!

Fun little app, but misses some obvious things. It doesn't, for instance, access your contacts when you mail a pic. And while you're updating, let us enlarge the balloons. We'll look for that update soon.
