Description
In a world where chaos reigns and might makes right, those who stand alone don’t stand for long.

Tall Bike Joust features six post-apocalyptic cityscapes in which players compete in Quick Jousts and longer Tournament battles to increase their ability to defeat opponents. Players can choose and name their avatar, modify their attributes and customize their bicycles. The supreme confrontation is to joust Doyle, the official Tall Bike Jousting Champion of the World, to secure the top spot and achieve eternal fame.

THE BACK STORY

The world reaches peak oil in the year 2012; the means to produce enough oil to satisfy global demand has failed. Going to war to gain control of oil fields in the Middle East, the U.S. and other countries enter an extreme recession and automakers go out of business. In response, people turn to bicycles as their main form of transportation.

Meanwhile, a powerful corporate entity hacks into U.S. government computers and takes control, unleashing an arsenal of nuclear weapons that destroy the largest cities in the world. Not knowing who to blame, every nuclear-capable country responds in a dramatic fashion by dropping bombs on its most likely adversary in retaliation.

What remains when the game begins in 2021 are several strongholds controlled by corporate entities, housed within skyscrapers dotting the post-apocalyptic landscape. Each stronghold can produce enough food and resources to sustain a moderate population. Outside the strongholds are groups of nomadic survivors—anarchists that travel on mutant bikes. They survive on trash from the nearest stronghold and rudimentary farming while using their wits and creativity to fight other bike clubs for territorial control.

so, given that i'm not really a gamer or avid cyclist (i own a bike and love it, but i don't know about fixing it and all that jazz), i didn't think i'd get as into this game as i did. i got it because a friend recommended it to me and...i am now the TALL BIKE JOUSTING CHAMPION OF THE WORLD!!! at least, in the world of my ipod touch. i've been playing it nonstop on the subway, in line at the grocery store, waiting for movies to start. it's great because the quick jousts and tournaments are short so you can get a few rounds in if you don't have much time, or, if you're on a roll, you can play for extended periods of time and just go through all the different cities. i'm really a fan of winning new stuff in the game, and there's a small joy in welding new parts. i won the stuffed bunny lance attachment the other day and i was so excited about it! clearly i've been sucked in.

anyway, it took me a few tries to get good at the game. so for those of you who are complaining that you can't get the circles to turn green...it's just because you're not practiced enough yet. also, i find the controls easy and unique, while the music (love that japanther) is upbeat and fun. all in all, no complaints! a solid game for a good price.
Fix please

Horrible lag problems. Character jumps all over the screen. Lose matches before they even start. This game has some serious issues. Was fun while it worked right.

This one came out of nowhere. Right when I saw it, I was interested immediately. I looked up a You-Tube video of this game and that sealed it. Other than thefact that this is very original, it's very fun. They made great use of the accelerometer. At first, pedaling is a bit awkward but you get used to it. I love that this game has a bunch of different locations. That always drives the value up for me personally. If you like biking games, Check this one out. It's funny, I have been downloading a lot of games that I feel are 5 star games! Tall Bike Joust is a very original and fun game. I can't wait to see more from this very talented group or people. The ONLY thing I dont like at all is the icon. It looks terrible on my iPod next to all those beautiful icons. PLEASE CHANGE THAT AWFUL ICON!!! Great Job Guys!

I've been waiting for Tall Bike Joust to be released and it totally surpassed my expectations. Cool use of the 3D environments - I dig the characters and the locations. The game's soundtrack rocks with songs from Matt and Kim, as well as Japanther! I really like the innovative controls - pedaling the Tall Bike with your thumbs makes the gameplay extra fun when your going in for the joust. This game is worth the money! Get it now!
I loved jousting in a bunny suit.

The graphics are amazing. The characters are fun. The integration of the pedaling, accelerometer, and smart sensors are innovative and unique. I've never seen anything like it. The game was challenging -- it took me a couple hours to achieve greatness and become "The Tall Bike Jousting Champion of the World!" But the game had multiple locations to joust in. I was able to rank up my customizable avatar and weld / recycle parts of my broken bike. There's even a leader board that shows other players near you. I was never bored. I'm looking forward to Peer-to-Peer jousts. Bring it. BRAVO, TALL BIKE JOUST!
A few glitches, but still worth it.

It may have a few glitches, but it is still a very impressive and enjoyable game. Exiting and restarting the App will fix them every time. Worth every penny. I look forward to more from Bike Club Games.

I was skeptical about getting this, I figured it was just some lame get rich idea that fed off the fringe culture. This is nothjng like that at all, game is very polished and lots of fun. This game makes me want to go weld 2 bikes together and hit people woth a pvc pole and then drink a case of PBR. Congrats dudes you made a game out of something that attracts a few, enjoyable by anyone. That is not an easy task.
Fun game

Liked the game but would like the points to go higher than 999 after beating the game. Also when both players fall off bike it should be a draw not a loss pls fix that. Also there should be crowds of people surrounding the jousting as you play just like the Intro video
no tubes

the bonus items are messed up a little. i beat the game without getting a single tube, so i couldnt make any wheels. very fun game though. please add more weird stuff like the bunny suit. also the camera angles need adjusting in battle after you hit your opponent. you cant see if your rider fell off first or anything. it just scans the ground.
Needs a free version

I've been making excuses for this one but it's just bad. Its like a gross, squatter punk RPG with terrible controls. More time is spent loading and tweaking than actually playing. Looks clever, I really wanted to like it but once the novelty wears off it's just not fun. If there were a free version to try it out... but then I probably would never have bought this. Take the $3 you got from the blood bank and buy some malt liquor.
Great graphics but...
