Description
MAUI PHOTO FESTIVAL SALE - ONE WEEK ONLY

Dr. Dave met Rick one year ago at the Maui Photo Festival, and we decided to develop iPhone apps for photographers. We're celebrating our first great year with a one-week sale. Tell your friends that they can get the amazing Photo Buffet apps for more than 50% off! But only for this week!

Rick Sammon’s 24/7 Photo Buffet for iPad: an expert photographer in your iPad.

This app will make you a better photographer by providing photographic advice, tips, and techniques collected during Rick's 30+ years of professional experience. The interactive app is packed with detailed mini-articles, live-action movies, screen movies, and over 200 great photos.

Use this app to learn basic and advanced techniques, or as a searchable guide to find a fix for a tricky photographic situation. This is like having Rick – one of today’s top professional photographers and authors – with you 24/7.

The app was developed for SLR photographers, but it's valuable for compact camera and iPhone shooters who want to make great pictures.

This iPad version of our popular app for the iPhone has been redesigned and rewritten for the iPad. It has much larger text and images, and is easier to navigate and use. Of course, the iPhone version is still your best choice if you want to always have Rick in your hip pocket.

NOTE:
This is NOT an app to process images or take photos. Please do NOT buy it to manage your photo library - it will not do that. It is an app to teach you how to take better pictures using a real camera.

USER COMMENTS:
★★★★★ Rick points out the simple things that most of us don't see…

★★★★★ Perfect reference tool for in the field or just for reading. Also they're fantastic in taking users suggestions and correcting any faults.

★★★★★ As someone who is just getting into photography with a DSLR, this is brilliant.

★★★★★ This app is a great example of (in my humble opinion) the next phase of online training. Best thing, you can take it with you as you are out photographing.

ORGANIZATION:
Content is divided into five major sections, each with a scrollable collection of topics, including:
• Seeing – Learn how to see a picture in your mind’s eye, before you snap the shot. Subjects covered include composition, framing, and lighting.
• Making – Discover how to make a great picture rather than simply take a picture, applying your knowledge of exposure, color balance, flash, filters, and even taking pictures with the iPhone itself.
• Editing – Find out how to enhance your pictures in the digital darkroom by tweaking the white balance, levels, saturation and contrast, and selectively controlling sharpening.
• Tips – Search Rick’s A-Z photo tips for advice on everything from aerial shooting and underwater photography to sunsets and panoramas.
• Help - A powerful Search function lets you quickly find anything in the app, and a direct link to the Digital Photo Experience web site provides extra content that is continually updated.

• Notes - Use the Notes page to capture and email tips and tricks you want to remember.

SUBJECTS:
Take better pictures of kids, nighttime subjects, sunrises and sunsets, fireworks, animals, people, scenery, waterfalls, rainy day subjects, wildlife, and more. Use this app to increase your knowledge of HDR, panoramas, lenses, aperture, shutter speed, white balance, exposure, fill flash, filters, lighting, ISO, photo editing software, workflow, accessories, and computers.

SIZE:
This app is over 120 MB in size, so you need a WiFi connection to download it.

I'm somewhere between a (sometimes paid) professional and an avid amateur / enthusiast and I find this app to be a very good reference guide and extremely well organized (and designed). It's also just quite fun to read. Most of the technical aspects of this I already knew/practice, but the creative aspects, editing tips, photos, movies, the ability to take notes, his commentary and more - makes it all well worth the price tag and inspires me to try new things. It would be really nice, in the future, if there could be a daily 'tip of the day' / 'photo of the day' (based on an RSS feed maybe even off of DPE) like many photog blogs do just to keep content even fresher. Hope the frequent updates keep coming! My SLR and I thank you!

Thank you for this app; it's well organized, easy to read and has excellent examples. So many tips and he gets straight to the point that I barely even need to use the notes. I highly recommend this for anyone starting out in photography with a DSLR camera.

This is a VERY well-done app. I just started playing with it, but am already impressed. It has text, sample pix, & videos on how to see good photos, how to make good photos, how to post-process good photos, and more. It has a search feature that is neat, you can look for any topic simply by typing in a word. This app is a great example of (in my humble opinion) the next phase of online training. Best thing, you can take it with you as you are out photographing. Way to go, Rick! And thanks. Raw Rules!
Great App.

I have been a professional photographer for many years. This app teaches you the basics of photography, and helps you remember the little things you forget over the years. If you own a DSLR, this is a great app to learn from. I would recommend this to all my friends.

Best photography app I have purchased. I bought this today and even after a few minutes was extremely impressed with the amount of effort that had been put into producing it. There is a lot of detail on the basics of photography, as well as more specialized shooting techniques from Rick to take your photography up a notch. He uses video and photo examples of what he is describing and it is very well put together. It is a great teaching tool, and you will refer back to it again and again. This app rocks! Buy it - it is money well spent.
Great Tips. Real Learning.

Rick points out the simple things that most of us don't see while we look right at the issue.. Once illustrated we go into that 'Oh, wow thats really neat'. He keeps the fun in the game and teaches how to see our environment. And we can see the instruction as many times as we want. Would suggest this to anyone that is going to shoot pictures that feels comfortable with that little 'what if' apple product in his pocket.

This app is very full, you get what you pay for. Don't just ignore this app because you think you are too professional to use a photography tips app. I was questioning whether or not I would use an app that teaches what I thought I knew well, if that makes sense. I love it and it is very fun to read. If you have to, think of it like a $5 interactive guide written by a good photographer. The videos are just great!

This app is great. It will help you become a better photographer. The before-and-after illustrations are dramatic, but the tips are simple to understand and use. The embedded movies are great.

If you ever wondered how to take great photographs but never really had the time to take a course then this app is for you. If you own a pro or prosumer camera and shoot solely on auto mode then you'll love this app. If you want to take better photos with your point and shoot then this app is for you - everyone, regardless of their level will get something from this perfectly constructed app. Great stuff!
