Description
Rick Sammon’s 24/7 Photo Buffet: an expert photographer in your hip pocket.

Rick Sammon’s 24/7 Photo Buffet will make you a better photographer. Our buffet offers photographic advice, tips, and techniques collected during Rick's 30+ years of professional experience. The interactive app is packed with detailed mini-articles, live-action movies, screen movies, and over 200 great photos.

Use this app as a reference to learn basic and advanced techniques, or as a searchable guide to find a quick fix for a tricky photographic situation. This is like having Rick – one of today’s top professional photographers and authors – in your hip pocket – 24/7.

The app was developed for SLR photographers, but it's full of goodies for compact camera, and iPhone, shooters who have an appetite for making great pictures.

Our newest topic introduces High Dynamic Range (HDR) photography, providing guidance, tips, many really cool example photos, and even a movie to get you started.

USER COMMENTS
★★★★★ Rick points out the simple things that most of us don't see… (U.S.)

★★★★★ Perfect reference tool for in the field or just for reading. Also they're fantastic in taking users suggestions and correcting any faults. (Canada)

★★★★★ As someone who is just getting into photography with a DSLR, this is brilliant. (U.K.)

★★★★★ This app is a great example of (in my humble opinion) the next phase of online training. Best thing, you can take it with you as you are out photographing. (U.S.)

ORGANIZATION:
Content is divided into five major sections, each with a scrollable collection of topics, including:
• Seeing – Learn how to see a picture in your mind’s eye, before you snap the shot. Subjects covered include composition, framing, and lighting.
• Making – Discover how to make a great picture rather than simply take a picture, applying your knowledge of exposure, color balance, flash, filters, and even taking pictures with the iPhone itself.
• Editing – Find out how to enhance your pictures in the digital darkroom by tweaking the white balance, levels, saturation and contrast, and selectively controlling sharpening.
• Tips – Search Rick’s A-Z photo tips for advice on everything from aerial shooting and underwater photography to sunsets, panoramas, and HDR.
• Help - A powerful Search function lets you quickly find anything in the app, and a direct link to the Digital Photo Experience web site provides extra content that is continually updated.

SUBJECTS:
A smorgasbord of photography topics to help you take better pictures of kids, nighttime subjects, sunrises and sunsets, fireworks, animals, people, scenery, waterfalls, rainy day subjects, wildlife, and more. Use this app to increase your knowledge of High Dynamic Range (HDR), close-ups, panoramas, lenses, aperture, shutter speed, white balance, exposure, fill flash, filters, lighting, ISO, photo editing software, workflow, accessories, and computers.

SIZE:
This is a content-heavy app, well over 100 MB in size. The bad news is that you need a WiFi connection to download the app. The good news is that the articles, movies, and photos are all built into the app, so you can use it anywhere - on an airplane, a cruise ship, a hotel room, or on the moon (we therefore include a great photo taken on the moon). All of Rick's expertise is right in your hip pocket. Plus, you can read the Digital Photo Experience to get fresh, new articles whenever you do have an Internet connection.

NOTE:
This is not an app that controls your iPhone camera, or processes images. It is an app to teach you how to take better pictures.

This is a VERY well-done app. I just started playing with it, but am already impressed. It has text, sample pix, & videos on how to see good photos, how to make good photos, how to post-process good photos, and more. It has a search feature that is neat, you can look for any topic simply by typing in a word. This app is a great example of (in my humble opinion) the next phase of online training. Best thing, you can take it with you as you are out photographing. Way to go, Rick! And thanks. Raw Rules!

Best photography app I have purchased. I bought this today and even after a few minutes was extremely impressed with the amount of effort that had been put into producing it. There is a lot of detail on the basics of photography, as well as more specialized shooting techniques from Rick to take your photography up a notch. He uses video and photo examples of what he is describing and it is very well put together. It is a great teaching tool, and you will refer back to it again and again. This app rocks! Buy it - it is money well spent.
Great Tips. Real Learning.

If you ever wondered how to take great photographs but never really had the time to take a course then this app is for you. If you own a pro or prosumer camera and shoot solely on auto mode then you'll love this app. If you want to take better photos with your point and shoot then this app is for you - everyone, regardless of their level will get something from this perfectly constructed app. Great stuff!

Rick points out the simple things that most of us don't see while we look right at the issue.. Once illustrated we go into that 'Oh, wow thats really neat'. He keeps the fun in the game and teaches how to see our environment. And we can see the instruction as many times as we want. Would suggest this to anyone that is going to shoot pictures that feels comfortable with that little 'what if' apple product in his pocket.

This is the most comprehensive and well-thought-out photography app for tips and instruction I've ever seen. The key, to me, is how everything is laid out and explained. It's well worth the money, and then some. Just buy it, already!
Love this app!

This app is great. It will help you become a better photographer. The before-and-after illustrations are dramatic, but the tips are simple to understand and use. The embedded movies are great.

This handy dandy iPhone app has more useful information packed into it at $4.99 than most photography books out on the market. Unlike a bulky book, Photo Buffet, may be accessed any where at any time. Beginner, Hobbyist or Professional it's a great tool!
