Description
Bebot: Part robot, Part synthesizer.

Bebot is a feature-packed, polyphonic musical synthesizer with a unique multitouch control method, personified on-screen as an adorable animated robot character who moves and sings the notes while you play.

Featuring four different synthesis modes, juicy analog-sounding filters, a versatile delay/looping effect and overdrive distortion, Bebot is a full-fledged realtime synthesizer, offering a wide range of sounds and a high degree of control via the multitouch screen.

Up to four notes can be played and controlled simultaneously using multiple fingers. The note grid display, autotune system and user-programmable scales help you to play in tune with ease. Don't just listen to your iPod music - play along! Or simply have fun making noises with your fingers, and let the cartoon robot entertain you and your friends.

Check out the demo videos at normalware.com to see it in action, including a walkthrough demo by keyboard wizard Jordan Rudess.

Protect yourself from boredom with Bebot!

What's New In This Version?
- Preset loading and saving - Now you can save your sounds and scales for later use, plus an autosave feature keeps your unsaved settings in place for next time.

- New chorus effect adds a new dimension of depth and character to your sounds.

- Improved overdrive effect provides pre-mixer mode, for cleaner and more versatile distortion effects

- On-screen hotkeys provide quick access to octave controls and snap-tuning toggle, for greater musical playability.

Version 1.5
This is worth way more than two dollars. I'm not too familiar with synthesizers, but the day the iPhone was announced, the first thing that came to mind was "multi-touch synthesizer." This has great sound, great customization, and does a great job of being a real musical instrument. I just spent an hour and a half improvising.

I found out about this from Jordan Rudess, keyboardist of Dream Theater. He's one of the best keyboardists in the world. I was surprised to see him recommend an iPhone application, yet alone use it on an album. (Black Clouds & Silver Linings)

Great application.

After reading reviews about how amazing this app was, I was curious to try it out. However, I haven't used it much since then. There isn't a lot of fun factor here. If you are trying to synthesize some unique sounds it may be up your alley.
Boring.

Astounding and worth every penny.

Honestly, this is a serious musical instrument. I'm wondering who'll become the first Bebot virtuoso!
I love this so much!

Gets old real quick. The sounds are mostly annoying. The only cool thing about this lackluster app is that my cats get a kick out of it.
Doesn't work

At first this app is adorable and just fun, but once you start messing with the different features and effects this app gets really musical. I have the minisynth and some other apps and none of them are as rad as this one. Get this app, you won't regret it.
Did not like it!

Idk it's ok. Fun to make the little guy make weird sounds and bounce back and forth, but unless you know what you're doing with a synth its pretty boring. I play guitar and consider myself a musician and this app goes right over my head.

The sounds are mostly annoying and boring. Beep, boop, beep, boop that's all it does! This is not worth $1.99, it should be free! Crashes on 2 nd gen ipod constantly! Left half of the screen either is not totally responding or producing unintended, unwanted terrible random sounds! Playing something is impossible , you can produce only annoying noise instead of intended notes or song. This is the worst app ever I bought during the new year. Unfortunately I already wasted my 2 bucks for this annoying toy and there is no way to get a refund, so don't waste yours!!!
