I was disappointed in this app actually. Out of all my issues, here are some key ones: although it will tell you what are the closest Metro stations, it won't tell you how to reach them. I would expect either a built-in map ir an integraiton with Google Maps to show how to go there... Moreover, searching for a station name is very weak if not broken: it will only search for stations whose name starts with the letters you enter. For instance it won't find "Sevres Levourbe" is you type "Lecourbe" ! Better have a pdf version of the Metro map for free rather than paying for this app.
Fantastic app!!!!

For those that are new to Paris, old to Paris or just plain visiting, you must get this app. It is well designed and incredibly useful. Much snappier now and the augmented reality view is neat too especially for POI's.

Version 3.0.1
Having just returned from a 5 day trip to Paris my thoughts are:
1. This app would be really beneficial if you lived in Paris or Europe full-time. As an American I have heard the horror stories of AT&T data roaming charges exceeding $500 dollars for a short visit. Before I left I turned off my data roaming on my iPhone. Unfortunately this caused me to lose most of the great features of this app. The GPS location services don't function with data turned off because apparently it works in conjuction with Google Maps. Also the POI's wouldn't appear for the same reasons.
On the plus side it is an excellent metro map and I did find myself consulting this for transfer stations within the Paris Metro System. The negatives I have mentioned really aren't a fault of the app, just the problems with the way AT&T addresses data roaming and locked phones.
Indispensible

Version 3.0.3
This was the most valuable app I had when in Paris. The "Route" function was by far the most useful and quite accurate. I believe it saved me a few hours of planning and possibly more in errors. Pity the points of interest function is not included, but otherwise highly recommended if you're going to rely on the Metro and RER. The "augmented reality" (directions to the nearest stations) works fairly well. I didn't have a 3G connection yet it was still the most useful Paris app I had. Unlike another reviewer, I found that the search function worked perfectly - searching "alma" found Pont de l'Alma. Combined with offline maps in OpenMaps, and Western Europe TomTom I had a great experience.
Absolutely great

Straightforward, easy to use. All things good for a visitor in a foreign city. Plus the locals think you are texting when you are searching.
Great app for the price

Version 1.7
Recently visited Paris where we rode the Metro and RER everywhere, thanks to this wonderful tool. I especially appreciated being able to put in the starting and ending stations and the app telling me the route and where to change trains.
Just ok. Needs better directions

Version 3.0.1
Bought this for my first trip to Paris based on the London map, which is great. In the Paris Metro, you have to know the end of the line for the direction you are going which this app doesn't give. Made for more difficult navigating than expected. Also, it does not combine bus & metro routes nor does it give alternative routes even though there are. Don't bother purchasing the POI stuff either. Totally useless. Coffee at the cafes is way better than at Starbucks in Paris anyway and the wifi never seemed to work.
Great simple app

If you are visiting Paris, this app is a must have. It's great to have the info right at your fingertips, instead of fumbling around with a paper map or gazing in confusion at a wall map. The route finder makes it a snap to navigate yourself around the city, and thus you can venture anywhere with complete confidence. A big merci beaucoup to the author!

Version 1.6
When I search a route from La Motte Pique to Gare de Lyon it gives a long one with a transfer way out of the way. When I search the reverse it gives a more correct route for half the time
A necessity in Paris

Version 3.0
Love the app, it's really handy and I've been waiting for something like this to make my life much simpler. Really user friendly and really clever tool. I only wish that NightBus (Noctilien) routes were displayed...

also, on ratp.com, alternate maps with more realistic streets and area layouts are available for metro, bus, and noctilien...these are far superior to the other maps available on the app. I'd really appreciate an option to choose between the two or just to get rid of the current maps and replace them with the maps "avec rues" in the next update.

With Noctilien routes and the better maps, this app will be perfect, but as it is now, it is an essential tool in this city.

Thanks Presselite!
Well worth the 99 cents!

Metro Paris was a nice App up to this spring 2010. You are receiving several time a day (and night if you are in an other time table) notification about the Metro traffic. This is not nice to have your iPhone ringing at your bed table at 2 or 3am when you are in USA.. The map is good, easy, simple, Bus, RER etc.. BUT! There is no option to cancel the notification to come when you are out of Paris. I will switch App. I am forced to! No preference to edit. No tech advisor to reach.. Sorry.
